Monteraponi Chianti Classico 2017


This blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo is a lazer focused and charming expression that oozes a classic Radda profile — one we keep stocked in the shop pretty much at all times. Natural yeast fermentation takes place in cement tanks followed by 25 days of maceration, and the wine is aged in large oak only for about 16 months, with no filtering or fining. A gorgeous crystal ruby red, with enticing aromas of cedar, humus, red berries, and violets; the palate is bright and full of fresh cherry, leather, earth, and dried herbs, bolstered by fresh acidity, silky tannins, and a long finish. Rich and refined but vibrant and easy-drinking, pair it with everything from pizza to roast lamb and enjoy this Tuscan beauty.
