Run by Antonella Manuli, La Maliosa is a 160 hectare farm in Maremma, Tuscany. Wine, honey, and olive oil are all produced on site, using sustainable and natural methods of farming. The wine production area consists of six hectares, where a slew of varietals can be found, such as; Ciliegiolo, Sangiovese, Alicante, Procanico, Trebbiano rosa and Grechetto.
La Maliosa Rosso Maremma Toscana comes from vineyards that were planted back in the 1960's. All native yeasts are used for fermentation, with a maceration that last about three to four weeks.
This blend of 90% Ciliegiolo and 10% Sangiovese might seem dense; ruby and violet in color, but it is also bright, with lively tannins and fresh acidity.
