I Vigneri Daino 'Suber' 2011


Another one of Salvo Fotis' consulting projects. Produced by Azienda Daino, this is a blend of 50% Nero d’Avola, 30% Alicante, 20% Nero Capitano (Frappato). Chockfull of wild, dark fruit. Smoky and peppery on the nose. Notes of rose petals, clove, black tea and lavender. Medium-bodied, well integrated tannins. 

'Suber' gets its name from the local oak tree Quercus Suber found in this area of Caltagirone, province of Catania, just north of Gela, Sicily.
