Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Bussia Riserva 2008


From a tiny, .5 hectare plot of 100% Michet clone Nebbiolo.  Fenocchio's Bussia Riserva undergoes a traditional vinification using natural fermentation without added yeasts and a long, 40 day maceration period.

It spends six months settling in stainless steel tanks, before being aged in large capacity Slavonian oak casks (35-50 hl) for three years, with successive refinement in the bottle.

Deep garnet red with ruby reflections. The scent is complex and rich with fruit, floral scents, spices, underbrush and plums. The bouquet is rich with fruit and floral fragrances, and strong warm spiced scents. An elegant and velvety wine, it is characterized by its completeness, balance and well known longevity.
