Super fresh and super juicy, the Mino sees the notoriously tangy Marzemino (plus a small percentage of white grapes) subjected to whole-cluster, carbonic maceration, an approach to fermentation often used to soften ‘sharp edges’ and nudge up the fruit elements of the given variety. While this wine may be light in body and color, it packs a wicked punch of lip smacking red fruit; cranberry, just-barely-ripe red cherry, prickly pear and red currant, countered by an intensely ferrous and dusty character, all of which is wrapped neatly wrapped in a crunchy and angular mouthful that screams undeniably of the mountains.
