Monteraponi Riserva Baron Ugo 2012

Monteraponi, located on the outskirts of Siena, is located in an ancient 11th century, medieval village that belonged to Count Ugo, Marchese and the Governor of Tuscany. The winery extends over an area of 200 hectares, nestled in a natural amphitheater, which is south facing and sheltered from the north winds. 12 hectares of vineyards are managed and grow amongst olive groves, oak and chestnut trees.

Monteraponi takes pride in their ancient cellar, housed within stone walls that maintain constant temperature and humidity level throughout the year. Natural fermentations occur in old concrete vats, with no additives and aging occurs only in large oak Austrian and Burgundian barrels.

'Baron Ugo' Riserva is a high-toned, finely structured wine that is full of red currant and black cherry undertones. Its length and persistence on the palate is well balanced with refreshing acidity and floral finish.

90% Sangiovese, 7% Canaiolo, 3% Colorino
