Castel del Piano Durlindana Pollera Bianco 2018

From a valley tucked in the corner where Liguria meets Tuscany meets Emilia Romagna, comes a red grape made like a white and looking an awful lot like rosé. So explain producers Andre Ghigliazza and Sabina Ruffaldi: “Pollera della Lunigiana is a red grape not too convinced of it, so to satisfy this character we vinify it in white or rosé.” The result is a pale rose gold, a nose of ripe apricots, notes of yellow fruit, and great minerality. Call it what you want, just drink it!
