100% Nero d’Avola on the low-intervention end; what can be heavy and overblown typically in the grape is still rich here but with a real freshness and balance. Vinified in concrete tanks, which captures the freshness of the fruit, it ages for 8 months in the tank and 3 months in the bottle. Sour black cherry, red currant, and wild herbs lend vibrancy to the peppery, earthy, and smokier tones in the wine. Bright acidity and some bold but well-integrated tannins make this an excellent wine at an exceptional cost.
