Rabasco Damigiana Rosato 2017

The artist formerly known as Iole's Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo. Perhaps ironically, some of the most significant wines to be found in Abruzzo are in fact pink - the contents of this bottle goes a good way to explaining why. A rich, textural and sinewy rosato wine, the Damigiana is drawn from the oldest and highest parcel on the property, San Desiderio. Opening with a slightly meaty, animalistic nose (remember, these wines need time and air), the wine mutates into a swirling pool of tart red berries, green strawberry and red currants. Plenty of heft and structure here, this is a wine destined for the dinner table.
